Pravinkoodu Shappu is an Indian Malayalam-language crime thriller film, written and directed by Sreeraj Sreenivasan. This marks his directorial debut. The film is produced under the banner of Anwar Rasheed Entertainment by renowned producer Anwar Rasheed. Filming began on February 29, 2024, in Thrissur and Ernakulam.
The film was initially planned for a Christmas 2024 release. Yet, it was postponed. It is now set to release on January 16, 2025. Vishnu Vijay composes the film’s music. He has earlier earned acclaim for his work in Malayalam cinema.
Pravinkoodu Shappu Plot
The story revolves around the investigation of a death in a toddy shop. Due to heavy rain, the shop is closed, and 11 people stay inside, drinking and playing cards overnight. The next morning, the shop owner, Komban Babu, is found hanging in the middle of the shop. A police officer interrogates the 11 individuals there that night. As the investigation unfolds, many mysterious facts are revealed. Ultimately, the question arises: who killed Komban Babu, and why was his body left hanging in the shop?
