The film is scheduled for theatrical release on 23 January 2026, coinciding with the occasions of Netaji Jayanti and Saraswati Puja. It is directed by Chandrasish Ray and produced by Shrikant Mohta and Mahendra Soni under the banners of Shree Venkatesh Films and NIdeas Production. The film is based on the famous novel Bijaynagarer Hirey, published in 1988 by renowned author Sunil Gangopadhyay. It marks the fourth installment of the Kakababu franchise and serves as a sequel to Kakababur Protyaborton (2022).

Vijaynagar’er Hirey Plot
The story follows Kakababu, also known as Raja Roychowdhury, and his nephew Shontu, who set out on a quest to find a mysterious and legendary diamond linked to the 14th-century Vijayanagar Empire. Their thrilling journey takes them to the historic ruins of Hampi, where a dangerous mafia gang is also in pursuit of the diamond, believing it to be even more valuable than the Kohinoor.

Vijaynagar’er Hirey Music
The film’s music is composed by Indradeep Dasgupta. The first song, “Jaatra Subho Hok,” was released on 5 January 2026, marking his tenth collaboration with Prosenjit Chatterjee.
