The film aims to portray the scale, coordination, and human cost of war on a far broader canvas than the original.

The film features an ensemble led by Sunny Deol, who makes a powerful return as an Indian Army officer. Joining him are Varun Dhawan, Diljit Dosanjh, and Ahan Shetty, each representing a different wing of the Indian armed forces. Supporting roles are played by Mona Singh, Sonam Bajwa, Medha Rana, and Anya Singh. Several characters are inspired by real-life war heroes, adding authenticity and emotional depth to the narrative.
Border 2 Production and Filming
Principal photography took place throughout 2025 across several strategically important and geographically diverse locations in India. The film was shot at Jhansi and Babina Cantonments, the National Defence Academy (NDA) in Khadakwasla, as well as in Uttarakhand, Punjab, and Rajasthan. Naval sequences were filmed using real assets, including INS Vikrant, along with other undisclosed air force and naval bases. The makers relied heavily on authentic military locations and installations to ensure realism in combat and training sequences.

The film’s background score has been composed by John Stewart Eduri, while the songs are created by Anu Malik, Mithoon, Sachet–Parampara, Vishal Mishra, and Gurmoh. The complete music album was released on January 14, 2026. Notably, the soundtrack includes recreated versions of some iconic songs from Border (1997), reimagined for a new generation.
