Jana Nayagan is an upcoming Tamil-language political action thriller scheduled for release on 9 January 2026, coinciding with the Pongal festival. The film features Vijay (Thalapathy) in the lead role, with Pooja Hegde and Bobby Deol playing key characters. It is directed by H. Vinoth and produced by KVN Productions.
The project was officially announced in September 2024 under the tentative title Thalapathy 69, marking Vijay’s 69th film as a lead actor. The official title Jana Nayagan was revealed in January 2025. For Vijay’s fans, the film is positioned as a special New Year and Pongal gift.

Jana Nayagan Plot
Jana Nayagan follows Vetri Kondan, an upright and fearless IPS officer, who becomes the voice of the common people while fighting a deeply rooted political–criminal nexus. As corruption, abuse of power, and injustice threaten democracy, Vetri is forced to step beyond the limits of his uniform and confront powerful forces controlling the system. The entire story revolves around an IPS officer. The film’s trailer is being very well-received by the audience, which proves that viewers are really liking the story.
