Viduthalai Part 2 is an Indian Tamil-language crime thriller film scheduled to release in theaters on December 20, 2024. It is a sequel to the 2023 blockbuster film Viduthalai Part 1. The film is directed by Vetrimaaran and written by Vetrimaaran and Thangam. It is produced under the banners of RS Infotainment and Grass Root Film Company.

The film’s shooting began in 2021 but was divided into two parts due to the extensive storyline. Viduthalai Part 1 was released on March 31, 2023. The shooting for the second part concluded in October 2024. It is set to hit theaters on December 20, 2024. The movie is filled with action and emotional drama.

Viduthalai Part 2 Plot

The movie revolves around police constable Kumaresan, who faces off against Perumal Vaathiyar, the leader of a separatist group. The conflict between Kumaresan and Perumal Vaathiyar brings the story to an intriguing climax. The plot is filled with social struggles, police strategies, and personal drama. The writer has compellingly depicted the fight against corrupt governance and human rights violations. The romantic relationship between Kumaresan and Tamilarasi adds an interesting layer to the story. Kumaresan finds himself torn between his duty and humanity, while Perumal fights for the rights of his people.

Viduthalai Part 2 Music

The music of the film is composed by legendary composer Ilaiyaraaja. This project marked his first recording at his newly established studio. The first song, “Dhinam Dhinamum,” was released on November 17, 2024. The film premiered on January 31, 2024, at the 53rd International Film Festival Rotterdam.
